It was back in December 2015 when we decided to visit HK Disneyland and make my dream come true. It was actually a side trip as we were really going home for Christmas from Dubai ( Pabasa nalang po ng previous blog namin to read more on our life in DXB). Disneyland has always been my dream destination and when I was younger I told myself, if I can finally go to Disneyland then that means I’m already successful (nakakatawa diba, yun talaga yung basehan ko ng success).
I usually plan and book for all our trips, A only reviews it and check if swak sa budget. This is not our first time traveling but its the first time na kaming dalawa lang so we were a bit nervous. A was hesitant at first but at the back of her mind she wanted to make my dream come true.. Since we researched and planned our trip, nakabook na yung hotel, Disneyland ticket and round trip ticket namin including our flight back to Dubai from home months before our travel date. We always bring enough cash and we only use our cards for emergencies.
So we were finally on our flight to HK and we got mixed feelings. It was so surreal and we just don’t know what to expect. You know that feeling, like eto na yun.. talagang nangyayari na toh, dream come true na! Its something words can’t explain and some may say its mababaw but it is what is. Lalu na at hindi mo naman maisip na maafford mo toh years ago. Yes, I struggled most of my life and right after college I immediately started working and being in that moment where I can finally say I’m successful at naachieve ko na yung pangarap ko is so satisfying and overwhelming. I made my dream come true!
Follow your Dreams!
This post was not really about my trip to HK Disneyland, its more about how I made my dream come true and this was the first of many. What I’m trying to say is it’s possible, if you believe and work for it. We should never stop dreaming, I always tell myself that my dreams are my future. I always imagine myself being in that moment of having my dreams come true and so far most of them did come true. I still have dreams that I’m working on now but I guess that’s how it works, you keep dreaming and believing until you have your ultimate dream come true and by then you’re already contented and very much happy with what you’ve achieved.
But if you’re curious, HK Disneyland was awesome! We were already there by 10 am or before that and we were there until 8 pm closing but we felt like a day was not enough to explore the whole park. Our favorites were definitely watching the fireworks show, Lion King theatrical show and Frozen (they even sprayed us with some sort of artificial snow). Oh and even the Disney train was great. It was really a magical place and will I go for a second time? – Yes, definitely. It was worth it and the kid in us was just screaming with so much joy and excitement. A dream come true indeed!
Hotel, Flights & Disneyland Ticket
If you must know here are the details about our dream come true trip. We stayed at Ibis Hotel for 3 days 2 nights. Our room had a great view and bed was comfy. They didn’t have breakfast included though but they have Starbucks in the lobby and 7 eleven was just near too. Staff were great and very friendly. We booked this online through Booking.com, at that time they were the cheapest.
For our flight of course we chose Cathay Pacific throughout, very comfy seats and spacious. I’m 5’8″ but still have enough room for my legs to stretch. Meals and drinks are great, inflight movies , games and music are available so that’s super great. If you are in Dubai, we booked our flights online through Musafir.com (watch out for their coupons) but you can also check Wego or Skyscanner for flight options.
Last but not the least, we booked our Disneyland ticket directly from their website, you will immediately see the machine where you can get your online purchased tickets in the entrance gate. We didn’t have to queue in line whatsoever. Food inside was a bit pricey but expected so bring enough cash especially if you plan to buy souvenirs (we didn’t..).
